When it comes to weddings it is more than normal that all future newlyweds would wish for the best outcome possible. A wedding represents the new road that the future couple is about to embark on. A wedding probably is one of the most costly events you will have ever have. It is normal to find yourself in an agitated state of mind while beginning to plan your wedding as there are so many factors to consider that it all seems to become overwhelming.
There are weddings that are very nice and there are weddings that seem to turn out into something more than just an event, weddings that resemble fairy tales. Every factor of planning a wedding determines the outcome. From the venue you choose to the season you choose to have your wedding.
There is a little bit of history and legend when it comes to summer weddings and why they are considered to be the first choice of all couples. The term used is “June Brides” and there is a fascinating reason for this. There is a tradition that dates back to Roman times when they used to celebrate the festival of the deity Juno and his wife Jupiter on the 1st of June. Jupiter was considered the Goddess of marriage and childbirth. Having our fair Jupiter being the representative of these two houses makes it more than normal that all woman wanted to be June brides so that maybe a little bit of that Jupiter luck would rub off on them. From a successful marriage to a healthy baby, it is more than normal that everyone has a wish and Jupiter might just be the one to grant it.
The Victorian for instance considered the June wedding to be most favorable because the flower season was at it’s peek during the summer and covering up body odor was easier with floral decor and scents surrounding a wedding. We prefer the Jupiter legend best. But even so, times have passed and getting flowers delivered to you on your wedding day is something that can, and does, happen all year long. When it comes to personal hygiene we happen to live in a world filled with running water, deodorant, and perfume.
Why do we all still prefer the summer wedding? What is it about the summertime that makes everything feel more relaxed, more beautiful and more soothing? Here are some reason why we all love summer weddings and some tips that other newlywed couples have implemented in their summer weddings that are just simply amazing ideas.
Summertime equals Vacation time
Since we have been little we have always awaited the summer time because it meant school was out. Ironically enough if you pay attention to the most flexible times of the year that people can take vacations it would still be during the summer time. Having a summer wedding will make it easier for you to handle the details of planning your wedding.
School is OUT
As a future newlywed couple, you might not think that this will affect you as much, but it will! Having school out means that more of your guests will attend. Most of your guests might have children and having them be in school might affect their program and travel capability. Let’s say you are having a beautiful wedding somewhere near, not even a destination wedding, more of a location wedding, having guests with children that are free from school will assure you that they will attend. Even if the parents can’t take a vacation, they can take one day off a work and make it an extended weekend. The main idea is that most of your guest should attend. There is no “snow storm” about to happen. There are no excuses for the summer.
There is no denying it, you can not hope for better weather. As beautiful as the other seasons might be, with all that they bring, there is something about the summertime that is simply poetry to the eyes. There are very few chances that there will be rain on your wedding day. There will be no winds or any weather issues that might ruin your weddings decorations or blow out your candles.
There is always more to wear, even tho there is literally less in fabric, during the summer time. You and your guests can choose from the variety of materials that are out there and that are soft and let your skin breath and enjoy the weather.
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
Is there anything more beautiful than having your wedding outside? Not to mention that during the summer you can be sure that there are minimal chances of a storm or rain to ruin your wedding. Summer is a trustworthy season that wants to accommodate you on your wedding day. Summer is your friend.
Another great part about having a summer wedding is that you can have the aisle leading down all covered in petals and the best part is that there is no wind to ruin it. Locked petals in place.
When it comes to summer there are a few images that come to mind and a garden is one of them. Imagine having your wedding in a garden and how beautiful it would be. Being surrounded by nature is a dream all future brides and grooms would want for their big day. Besides having a love for the outdoors there is another plus to having a garden wedding in the summertime, the styling décor opportunities are endless and minimal needed as well.
There is no denying the fact that a clear blue sky, with the sun shining is exactly the kind of scenario that makes for the most beautiful wedding photos one could wish for. Having a summer wedding is not only beneficial to you and your guests it suits your wedding photographer as well. Having a great scenario lit in a way that only the sun and nature can will make for some of the most natural and unedited photos you will ever have. And all because you choose to have a summer wedding.
Amazing Color Scheme
There is no doubt that the summertime is considered to be one of the most colorful seasons of all. This, however, does not mean that you can not have a colorful wedding scheme if you are having a winter wedding. You can have anything you wish for and choose, as it is your wedding. However, there is one truth that cannot be denied and that is that there is something about each season that is representative and a variety of colors at your summer wedding is something natural that represent the beauty of the season.
Having your table décor in beautiful live or pastel colors is something that is suitable for the season at hand. Summer means life, it is a time when everything comes to life or back to life. Having a lively color scheme at your summer wedding, either outdoor on indoor will give all of your guests an extra energy boost that will resonate throughout your wedding day and will make everyone feel extraordinary.
If you are having a destination wedding, near or far there are some factors to take into consideration. Sure it might be summer and as we have stated it is much easier to travel and get time off a work, the kids are free and everything seems to fit into place. However, if you are having a destination wedding try to take into consideration after making all the accommodations to have a Friday wedding. This way your guest have time to spend, relax and rest up after your wedding. You can have your wedding on a Saturday and ask them to take Monday off a work. The main idea is to make sure your guest have time to rest up and enjoy your wedding.
Lace Umbrellas & Parasols
The only thing to take into consideration if you are having an outside wedding ceremony during the summer is that you should make sure to have something to help you guest cover-up in the staggering sun. Making sure you order umbrellas or parasols will assure you that all of your guests will be holding the same design up and it will make your photos come out amazingly. Not to mention that your guest will love you for thinking about them in the heated sun.
Considering that it is summer time you can arrange for some entertainment outside. If there will be children present this will be a great idea to keep them preoccupied while their parents enjoy your wedding as it was meant to be enjoyed. There can be board games, anything from face painting to outdoor activities depending on the ages of your smaller guests.
A little something for your guests to deal with the sun at it’s peek. This might seem like a weird idea but having a beauty station is something every summer wedding should have, especially one whose ceremony will be held outside. A small stand near the restrooms with all the supplies to freshen up is something your guests might need and will super appreciate. The main items to have are wet wipes, deodorant, thermal water, face wipes and some perfume or body spray.
If I could choose my favorite part about having is a summer wedding it would be that as soon as it is over and the newlywed couple will be on their way to the next part of their lives, the honeymoon.
If you were having a winter or even a fall wedding, going to certain destinations for your honeymoon might not be such a great idea. Having a summer wedding means that there is no location that will off-season and off your list! You can go anywhere! The weather is perfect for any trip from Santorini to the Amalfi coast. Sure you could go to French Riviera in January but there would be no one there and the weather might not be as beach friendly as you would have wished for. But for a summer wedding, all honeymoon destinations will be perfect for beaches or just visiting.
Having a summer wedding is one of the best times to have a wedding. In the end, the only thing that matters is that you are together with all the people you love most celebrating your big day. If this happens to be in the summer then consider yourselves lucky and enjoy all that the warm season has to offer.
